We invite applications for three academic positions across two DFG-funded research projects:
"Democratic Persuasion: How to Make the Case for Democracy" Using survey experiments, LLM-based persuasive conversations, and a framed field experiment involving one-on-one dialogues, this project identifies the motivations behind democratic skepticism and tests which communicative strategies reinforce support for democracy
Emmy Noether Research Group: “Predictably Paradoxical - Mapping the Democratic Mind with AI" Developing and employing the novel method of AI Conversational Interviewing, this project analyzes multi-modal data from LLM-enabled semi-structured interviews to map people’s democratic belief systems

3. Postdoctoral Researcher on Democratic Persuasion (100%, fixed term: 22 months, TVL E-13, approx. €64,000/year)

Ideal candidates have a background in quantitative methods, proficiency in statistical programming (R and/or Python), and an interest in political psychology, persuasion, or democracy research.
